In the town there is a museum, an enormous church and a market. It is a 15 minute walk across open park land to Audley End House (with its regular events, summer concerts and famous organic vegetable garden).

5 minutes walk: Shops: Market Square with excellent Saturday food market (fresh fish, cheese, olives, vegetable, organic produce and French sausage stalls), Waitrose supermarket, 2 wine shops, 2 delicatessents, a number of craft and gift shops as well as all the usual facitilities of a Market Town
